Forty-six contestants in grades 4-8, competed in the 2025 Hodgeman County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, Feb. 11th. Brooklyn Younger won first place correctly spelling the word, “chimpanzee,” and was declared the Hodgeman County Champion. Brooklyn Sanchez was the runner-up and received 2nd place. Emma Gomez received 3rd place, Johnalee Burke received 4th place, Myla Tarman received 5th place, and Rylan Herrmann received 6th place. Brooklyn Younger has the privilege to represent Hodgeman County in the 2025 Sunflower Spelling Bee, Saturday, March 22nd, at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas. Congratulations Brooklyn!
